Muir - a pragmatic leatherbound journal in burnt sienna

Covered with burnt sienna leather, pages sewn in with thick brown linen thread in the historical longstitch style. Simple flyleaves made of ink-dyed brown cardstock. The book can be closed with a hand-braided cord which has a single Czech glass bead on it.

Approx. 112 pages of ivory coloured, archival Canson Mi-Teintes paper inside, torn edges. Perfect for pen, ink, watercolour, acrylics and mixed media.

I have designed the books in the Muir series to be pragmatic, earthy and simple, with no unnecessary decorations or details. The sturdy paper matter combined with the supple feel of the leather gives these book a nice character. They can be opened flat and the structure also allows the pasting on of additional material such as photographs, paper and fibers. Thus they make great field journals, travel diaries and art journals.
